Compliance Management

A Baltimore, MD-based compliance professional, Mary Reece serves as Citigroup director of compliance and guides Citi programs spanning global governance risk and control. She also has experience in Internal Audit and Operations. Mary studied Accounting and Business Administration at the University of Kansas and received her Masters of Business Administration from Loyola College in Baltimore Maryland.

Mary's resume includes experience working as a Compliance Officer for areas of Privacy, Fair Lending and other consumer regulatory areas. Most recently, Mary's work has focused on development of a global regulatory inventory and regulatory change management process. This includes developing the operational process as well as coordinating the technology requirements to support the new process.

As a Director of Compliance for Citi Independent Compliance Risk Management in Baltimore, MD, Mary Reece draws on more than 20 years of compliance and operations experience. She began her career at Citi as an auditor with CitiFinancial (f/k/a Primerica), after which she joined CitiFinancial Retail Services as an operations analyst and manager. Responsible for the support of retail merchants, Mary Reece introduced on-demand printing and artwork production to improve efficiency.

After serving in operations for approximately nine years, Ms. Reece transitioned into a new role as a Compliance Officer, in which capacity she enhanced the compliance program for the company’s private label business. Subsequently promoted to Senior Compliance Officer and Fair Lending Officer, she oversaw compliance activities related to the various consumer regulatory programs and managed multiple compliance tools, including the Regulatory Risk Matrix.

Since accepting the role of Compliance Director in 2012, Ms. Reece has led multiple elements of the global program for regulatory control matrix and regulatory change management for Citi Independent Compliance Risk Management while directing strategy and projects for the organization’s Compliance Testing Department.
